Mohamed "Micho" El Manasterly

is a two-time Emmy Award–winning and ACE Eddie Award–winning film editor based in Los Angeles. A Cairo transplant, he is a bilingual storyteller whose work blends Egyptian roots with a multicultural perspective.

Micho made history as the first Egyptian editor ever to win a Primetime Emmy, receiving the award for his editing on the Oscar-nominated documentary The Square (2014). Since then, his work has continued to gain international acclaim, with films and series premiering at the world’s top festivals, including Sundance, Toronto, Sheffield, Dubai, IDFA, DOC NYC, Tribecca and the IDA Awards.

His recent achievements include a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2023 for his work on Apple TV+’s Home (Season 2). In 2024, he won his second Primetime Emmy for Best Picture Editing for FX’s hit series Welcome to Wrexham. The following year, he earned an ACE Eddie Award and a third Primetime Emmy nomination (2025), further solidifying his place as one of the most innovative editors in the industry.

Before embarking on his editing career, Micho expressed his artistic sensibilities as a percussionist and DJ. His deep knowledge of music continues to influence his editing style, shaping rhythm, transitions, and emotional flow in his work.

Over the years, Micho has also expanded his creative scope to include producing and writing. His versatility is evident across documentaries, narrative films, commercials, and talk shows.
